For the first time, and for one night only, George Kontrafouris will be presenting his new record release “The Passing”, live at the legendary Birdland in New York, with emerging young musicians Kimon Karoutzos (bass) and Jason Wastor (drums). George Kontrafouris has been a leading figure on the European jazz scene as jazz pianist, organist and educator and has collaborated with many famous musicians such as: Ralph Peterson Jr., Lou Donaldson, Bob Brozman, David Liebman, Benny Golson, Sheila Jordan, Houston Pearson… He will be playing with two outstanding young musicians, based in New York, Kimon Karoutzos on bass and Jason Wastor on drums. Kimon is a student of the legendary Ron Carter and Jason is a student of the Jazz master Kenny Washington.
