Niki Tavoulari – Fragmenta

Debut album by Niki Tavoulari with 10 instrumental tracks and one song (lyrics: Thrasos Kaminakis Voice: Natasha Moysoglou).
Niki Tavoulari has been composing since a very young age. However, and despite the fact that she always planned to record her material, she wasn’t deciding to take the big step. After years of testing she delivers “Fragmenta”, an album based on the sound of the piano combined with a wide range of timbres and instruments. Fluency in melodies is Niki Tavoulari’s great asset. The orchestrations are intentionally sparse and (most of the times) deliberately simple, with the piano that she plays herself accompanied (depending on the tracks mood) by a multitude of accomplished musicians:
Violin: Marios Dapergolas / Viola: Freedom So / Cello: Kostas Sereleas / Contrabass: Vasilis Koutsonanos / Guitar: George Androulakis and George Priniotakis / Oboe & English Horn: Spiros Kontos / Trumpet: Konstantinos Sapounis / Trombone: Stelios Michas-English / Accordion: Vaso Michailidou / Lute: Mai Angelaki / Bouzouki: Dimitris Vlahomitros and George Germatsidis / Keys & Samples: Christos Alexopouloswho handled some of the album’s orchestrations as well as overall production supervision.
In addition, the album features guest appearances by Stathis Anninos (piano) and Takis Farazis (accordion) in “Prosorina (part 1)” as well as o Michalis Katachanas (viola) and again o Stathis Anninos in “Prosorina (part 2)”.

The music arrangers that worked on “Fragmenta” are (in alphabetical order): Mai Angelaki , Christos Alexopoulos, Giorgos Andreou, Stathis Anninos, Michalis Katahanas, Giorgos Paterakis, Niki Tavoulari.
Recorded, Nixed and Mastered by George Priniotakis (Atrtracks Studios), except from the track “Prosorina, pt. 2″ on which the voice was recorded at Akron Studio by Vangelis Fampas.
