Baby Trio – Urban Jazz

Baby Trio evolves. Urban Jazz is their second album following their debut The Main Course three years ago, which set the basis of their sound, which is now broadened.
Today’s line up (George Kontrafouris, organ, and piano in two tracks, Konstantinos Stouraitis, guitar and Vasilis Podaras on the drums) includes the guests contributions of Angelos Polychronou (with percussion that blend in with Baby Trio’s great groove) and Antonis Andreou (who has developed into the best trombone player of his generation- takes the three tracks he plays in to another level).
It is the first time that an album by Baby Trio includes two songs. Special guest vocalist Dean Bowman (of the highly acclaimed Screaming Headless Torsos of the NewYork jazz/funk scene) sings on «Jazz is…» (composed by him) and «The Messenger-for McCoy Tyner» (composed by George Kontrafouris/ Kostis Christodoulou). In these songs Alexandros Vichos, an older member of Baby Trio, plays guitar.
